Let's set the scene – your organisation has at least 2 different sites or offices in 2 different locations. Or a lot more than 2.....
You want to network the sites so they operate 'as one' with centralised answering, ring groups, directory etc etc – basically get some economies of scale, like you would with your IT network.
Using Small Community Networking, AVAYA IP Office can deliver multi-site networked offices for voice communication giving you this kind of functionality including:
- Centralised answering, voicemail and directory
- Presence and dialling of all users
- Distributed ringing groups
- Hot desking
- Dial out through another site
Up to 2,500 users can be networked across 32 sites.
Note that, with IP Office, when you network sites together, you do NOT get full functionality (in other words it is not exactly like having one centralised system) - it is still multiple systems networked together. So although the features you get between sites, listed above, are excellent, you do not have one central system.

To network 2 IP Office systems together, you will need VCM cards in each one with Voicenetworking licenses at each site for the correct amount of simultaneous calls you wish to support.
IP Office can also network to AVAYA Aura systems as a 'branch'.
