eCopy Scanning from your Copier or Printer
In an electronic world, more and more documents are sent electronically. The ability to scan from your copier or printer is a very attractive cost-saving solution.
First Office Systems is an accredited Canon Solutions Business Partner. We are qualified to provide, install and support the complete Canon range including eCopy scanning solutions for businesses throughout Kent, Sussex, Surrey, London and the South East.

Application Software
MEAP - ‘Multifunctional Embedded Application Platform’
Meap is a Java platform that runs on Canon Multifunctional Devices, enabling software applications, such as e-Copy, accounting software, i-Send to be resident (embedded) on the device.
There are a number of MEAP applications available:
Personal Mailbox: Extend the functionality of the current mailboxes on the Canon devices through added capacity and security.
- Improves security – use of Active Directory
- Improves productivity – no IT administration needed as ‘Virtual Mailboxes’ are created
- Reduces costs – thousands of documents can be stored at any time
- Ease of administration – integration to Active Directory
- Ease of use – uses normal network login user name and password to release secure jobs.
Quick Print / Quick Print Enterprise
Access commonly used documents from a clear and easy-to-use folder structure at the device, including accessing web pages:
- Ease of use –Windows style folder and file structure
- Ease of Administration – dedicated PC supports multiple devices

Universal Send
Canon’s advanced image readers provide scanning of up to A3 colour / black & white images and, using Universal Send, can directly scan images and send them to e-mail addresses, PC mailboxes, desktops, company servers or databases in a choice of formats: PDF, TIFF, Bitmap or JPEG. First Office Systems customers in the Kent, Sussex, Surrey and South London areas have benefitted greatly from the scanning facility, as they can now scan documents to PDF, and send them as attachments, as opposed to spending money on expensive courier or postal services. This example, and saving money, is just one way that the Universal Send facility can help.
iW Accounting Manager for MEAP
Delivers simple-to-use print, copy, scan and fax usage reporting on Canon Multifunctional MEAP devices It can track black & white and colour printing by device and user, as well as double sided printing and paper sizes and types. It includes an automated results gathering and scheduling function, and reports can be viewed via a web browser. It also provides and effective snapshot of document output activity, helping you to keep the costs under control.
uniFLOW Output Manager is a comprehensive print workflow automation tool that features both flexibility and functionality. uniFLOW provides full auditing, allowing users to monitor and track what is printed, by whom and at what cost. Users can model their print workflow and track all prints and copies across all network devices on the print server.

eCopy
eCopy Document Distribution enables you to easily, yet securely, scan paper documents to e-mail addresses, fax servers, FTP sites, document or content management or other business workflow applications. It helps you reduce the costs of traditional distribution methods, such as fax, post and courier by providing a zero cost transmission. It also helps you to be more productive by enabling the rapid capture of documents in a structured format into back-office systems, such as content management applications, ensuring documents are at the fingertips of those who need them, when they need them. eCopy Desktop
Desktop document imaging solution for personal productivity
eCopy Desktop enables users to work faster and more efficiently with PDF files created through document scanning. It makes it easy to capture, combine, edit, and secure scanned documents from various Microsoft Software applications, through an intuitive, user-friendly interface. As a result, users can retrieve, edit, and distribute original-quality scanned documents just as they would any other electronic files, improving personal productivity.
eCopy SIMS.net (SIMS – Schools Information Management System)
The SIMS.net Connector for eCopy ENABLED Canon devices allows users to turn documents into digital files, which can then be seamlessly imported into SIMS.net (a management information system used by schools) and attached to pupil teacher or other records.
To use the SIMS.net Connector, the user places the paper documents into the Multifunctional Device Document Feeder and then select ‘Scan to SIMS.net’. Scanning options include choosing the focus group, document type and sub-area, for example a doctor’s note, medical conditions, teacher assessment, general correspondence, exclusions or behaviour, social services record and so on.
